Are You a Candidate for Invisalign®?

Patients that have to deal with underbites, overbites, overlapping, jaw misalignment, overcrowding, gaps, and other teeth alignment issues will more than likely be good candidates for Invisalign® braces. In general, Invisalign® is an attractive option to those who may feel self-conscious about using traditional metal braces. As long as the patient has generally healthy teeth and their molars have fully erupted, Invisalign® is a fine option to consider for teeth straightening.

About the Invisalign® Process

During your initial consultation at Incredible Smiles of Texas, we will explain the Invisalign® process to you in detail and help you determine whether it is the right treatment for you. If it is, then we will take x-rays, digital photos, and impressions of your teeth so that a series of customized aligners can be made specifically for you. You will wear each aligner for approximately two weeks and then switch it out for the next in the series. Each aligner will gently but definitively move your teeth toward their proper alignment, until you reach the last in the series and your orthodontic treatment is complete. In all, treatment with Invisalign® will require roughly the same amount of time as treatment with traditional metal braces.

During your treatment, you will wear your aligners for at least 22 hours a day. One of the chief benefits of Invisalign® treatment, however, is that you will be able to remove your aligners for brushing, flossing, and eating. This means that, unlike those who undergo treatment with metal braces, you will not face any dietary restrictions during your treatment. You will also be able to practice your regular oral hygiene regimen more easily.
